outside.

before you go through this pictures and ooh and ahh over how beautiful these guys are (cause, come on, they are) i want you to know that i am well aware of the fact that i have 4 children. 4. not 3. and just because only 3 are viewed in these pictures, doesn't mean i love the missing child any less. it just means, he didn't have any desire to have his photo taken.
henry, i love you.
now, enjoy.

she is such a ham.
they really do love this baby.
where's wilder?

ooh, will we have another finger sucker? and not a child obsessed with having his binky in upside down?
such the momma.
quite possibly my favorite picture of campbell, ever.
the other night while nursing wilder, campbell told me he wanted another baby. another baby brother. who he would name "boobie" (he said this with a straight face). mason then looks at me, lifts up her shirt, points to her belly and says, "i have boobie in my tummy right now".
yup. anatomy is not something we cover right now in home-schooling.

auntie ashley

auntie ashley flew down to help me with my first 2 days alone with the kids. and she was a very big help! of course, she needed lots of time for cuddling. and baking. and helping me wrangle the rest of the children.

while out and about we ventured to costco. i stayed in the van to feed wilder, and ashley said she watched sam try to wade through costco, on a sunday, and as mason bit campbell's head and henry tried to climb out of the moving cart, she just kept thinking, "you have 4 kids, 4 kids!"
sure, they are crazy, but then there are wonderful moments like this.

love you sis!
we are all looking forward to the rest of the family coming to visit- soon!

it's not a motorcylce.

but last month Sam celebrated his 30th birthday, and since he'd been talking about wanting a kayak for several years, i suggested that he buy one for his birthday.
so, Mason kinda thinks its her kayak. but that's ok.

we tend to share things in this family.
happy 30th to a very wonderful Dad and great friend (and husband)!

we have a sandbox.

and i have a ton more sanity.

Sam and Paul (Papa) took a couple hours (last Sunday? oh wait, these photos are date stamped.... 2 Sundays ago) and built us a wonderful sandbox right outside our front door. It's fantastic because I can keep our front door open and hear the kids playing (and yes, sometimes bickering, which involves quick interference) and having a grand busy time.

i mean, come on, look at these happy faces.
ok, so she's not so happy. but she isn't in the sandbox.

no one likes the sandbox as much as Henry. no one. he is in it ALL DAY LONG.
ok, not that long. but he gravitates towards it like sand is going out of style.
or like the sand was actually candy.
sure, we have been dealing with a tad more sand inside. and the occasional grinding sound on our coffee table as we pull our laptops across sand (its an awful noise and i have no idea how the sand makes it way on top of the coffee table), and there is a bit more sand in our children's hair (ok, its a ton of sand, they literally fill buckets and dump them on top of themselves).
but i don't care. they are outside, and they are happy.
as am i.

new toys.

just before we welcomed little Wilder into our hearts, Mason was given some very special new toys from her Nona and Pappy, a baby high chair and small baby crib. Both perfect presents for a soon to be big sis, who is really loving to make believe play anything and everything!

here Mason is trying to put her baby in the crib, and her brother is in the way.

so she lovingly helps him out.

now her baby can sleep.

such a ham.

sleeping baby.

and now the baby needs to eat.

Thank you soooooo much Nona (we know you found these treasures) hurry back and paint my high chair a pretty purple! She loves her new toys!

Adjusting.

it's been awhile since i posted here. i guess i can use the excuse of having a new baby :)
all in all, adjusting is going well. however, i have yet to be alone with all 4 children by myself. that won't technically happen until Saturday (unless any Nana and Papa's want to steal away a couple of the older ones) and i am a bit terrified at that thought. simply because mornings here can be slightly chaotic, and i have had the luxury of sleeping in while Sam's been off, and when my sister has been here helping.
so other than my fear of actually having to start my life as a mother of 4, the rest of the family is doing well. Wilder sleeps. And sleeps. and then, oh yes, he sleeps. Henry is incredibly interested in helping with Wilder. he wants to bring Wilder his binky (and hit him in the head with it) and he loves to throw diapers away. if Wilder is crying (which is a rare thing so far) Henry is right there to offer suggestions.
Mason is in love with the baby. she gets very excited when he comes into the room, she is always asking about him and she is a very involved big sister.
Campbell is happy too, having a new baby. But the thrill isn't as big for him. I mean, this is his 3rd sibling, the excitement is worn off. however, he too wants to know what is going on with Wilder, and wants to help.
Sam's been back at work for a couple of days, and he's doing his best to survive on limited sleep, although Wilder sleeps well at night, so Sam's getting some rest. He's being incredibly helpful with the older 3 kids. Not that he isn't helpful with Wilder, but i don't exactly offer up my beautiful newborn to be held for long.
And that's what i've been doing, holding my wonderful new baby. Helping him learn to nurse- and now he is an amazing nurser, his latch is great, its just keeping him awake to nurse!
God's blessings are amazing.
even though i haven't been posting, i have been taking pictures, lots of pictures.
so, let me share some with you.

little momma

sleeping, not sure if any pictures of him show his eyes just yet....

wait- there's his eyes! he has a big brother to see.

all my boys.

so handsome.

the baby doll in the far corner was happily brought to Wilder by Henry, although I am not sure why.

oh my, he is a beautiful baby!
