a boy and his monkey

Campbell may spend most days playing with his trains, and jumping up and down with Mason, and tearing through book after book. But when it comes down to it, this little guy absolutely loves his George. In addition to his "nigh nigh" and his "momma blanket", George has become the new face of bedtime, and playtime, and reading time, and well- Curious George time.
I love watching Campbell interact with his George.
I also love knowing that this monkey was found on a very fun day after Thanksgiving Day shopping sale- for 5 dollars.
Yup, thank you Kohl's (and Nana).

mat time.

he really does love this mat, he rolls all over it. and sadly, he is rolling off and over to new things. crawling isn't far off. as he daily works on scooting.

6 months.

our little Henry is 6 months old. where did half a year go? he's trying very hard to crawl- he's got a nice scoot going on. the most consistent thing people say about him is, "is he always this happy?" and yes, for 95% of the time he is a smiling, cooing, face sucking (Jess can attest to this), laughing boy.
and we love him.
and no, these pictures weren't posed- Henry is obsessed with flipping himself over in his baby chair. not quite sure where he thinks he's going, but he has a lot of fun doing it.

first day.

our little Campbell started Little Seeds, our church's preschool (and the preschool that Jess, Sam, and Levi went too), 2 weeks ago. my very good friend Krystin is his teacher, and seeing that Nana and Papa are generously paying for him to go, it is a wonderful time for Campbell to play and learn and interact with new people.
I am a little worried that he may be a little bored, the 3 year olds are working on letters and numbers, and for those of you who know Campbell, he is currently working on words.
But I really do believe that having a couple of hours to learn how to follow directions from others is a very good thing for him, especially since he is incredibly type A, it does him a world of good to have time where things don't go exactly how he thinks they should.
Campbell goes tuesdays and thursdays, but I am still home-schooling during the week- he's starting the reading/phonics/language arts curriculum for Kindergarten this week (he just loves learning!)

how is he this big already???

fun times

we took a short break from being sick in august, and got everyone out of the house in the hopes that a little fresh air would us all some good.

see how high up our big boy is? he is just so brave.
our swinging sweet gal.

our big boy's hair after coming off the slide. this is pre his haircut.
so happy to be out on the slide.

one more from the past.

i just keep coming across awfully cute pics of these two back from when they were sick.
and fyi- sam's family doctor said that he's 99% sure that they did have swine flu. there's a fun fact for the baby books, huh?

shots from the sick time

the unusual thing about this little-month long- illness that we just had, was that the kids were really only sick between 12 am- 10 am. the rest of the day they were pretty happy.
we tried to keep them calm, but they got pretty restless, as the pictures below will show.

rough housing on the couch with daddy

all 3 ready for nigh nighs.

playing in brother's (pronounced brudder) bed. campbell was having fun, despite the solemn expressions. that, and mason is a total ham!
notice there is no sheet on this bed due to impending sickness.

we are so glad this sickness has passed. i do believe through this month long batch of the never ending flu the Lord has made us both stronger parents and stronger friends.
so in hindsight was it a good thing?
i guess every good thing does come from the Father.

sweet music

we all love listening to sam play his guitar, and mason really loves getting involved in the music as well. i have found that henry will be quite content sitting in his baby chair watching his dada make music for him.
all to soon, the 3 of them will be making their own music!

if only

if only they were always entertained by each other, i would probably get to blog a lot more! right now i am letting the older two watch "geoge" (mason says george without the r) while i attempt to organize the wildly messy photo folder on my computer with the hopes to produce some blogs for all of you this week.
here i go... trying to get back on track!
