he's not a little baby anymore.

my boy is growing up.  and it hit me today just how grown up he has become.
a couple of conversations between Campbell and myself:

before bed time Campbell had crawled into my bed with his blanket.  I asked him to get come out of my room and come help me clean up his room.
Campbell: "ok, I have to get my trains first".
Me: "ok"
Campbell comes running into his room.
Campbell:" the trains were going nigh nigh on the red pillow"
Me: "oh really"
Campbell: "oh yes"

then later that night, Campbell was sitting behind our couch in his little reading nook, and I heard him reading "The Little Engine that Could".   I haven't be able to read to him very much lately, between nursing a new baby and Campbell just being a little uninterested in me reading to him.  So when he came back from around the couch this was our conversation:
Me: "Campbell, do you want mommy to read to you?"
Campbell: "Um, maybe later."
Me: "Really? I'll read "the Little Engine that Could?"
Campbell: "I just read that."

so yeah.  my little boy is to big for his momma to read a book to him.  He can do it.

1 month

Henry Levi

How did this happen?  Its been a month?  Weren't we just at the hospital yesterday? Agh.
1 month old.
Sorry this picture isn't fantastic.  I just realized I didn't have a picture of him for today.
weight update- little Henry was weighed on Monday: 9 lbs 8 ounces! on the 9th he was 8 lbs 9 ounces- that is almost 1 pound in 1 1/2 weeks! YES! He is really filling out.
We are starting to get some little smiles from him, and he is making great eye contact, moving his head from side to side when someone new comes into his face.
He's not sleeping through the night, but his brother and sister didn't until they were 6 months.  So i am prepared for many more sleepless nights.
Like another 18 years.

still sweet.

Campbell has been having a rough couple of weeks.  He's definitely switched from my super sweet child, to now a 3 year old.
His little mouth has been so hard for me.  He's started really mouthing off to me and Sam.  Shouting orders, and shouting at us, disagreeing with whatever we are asking him
It has been a long couple of weeks with a lot of discipline, and needing a lot of patience.
However.
He is still sweet at heart.
and he showed me that today.
I was planning a baby shower for a dear friend today with 2 other great friends.  Between us we had 5 awake children, and one sleeping child (and we were still missing 2 children!)
Well, as my friend Becky was loading up one of her 3 kids, one of her babies crawled to the door and started to cry for his momma.
well Campbell rushed to the little baby and says:
"Its ok little guy, its okay"
sob.
He also told Henry that later in the evening.  When Henry cried, "its ok Henry, its ok".
So even when his heart is battling his will with momma and dad, he still has the sweetness in his heart towards others.
And it gives me hope and perseverance!
I do love that little guy.

candyland adventure

for Campbell's birthday we got him CandyLand.  this was the first time I had played a board game with him.  It was so much fun to do this with him.  he didn't completely understand everything we were doing, but he had so much fun moving the pieces and being very excited when each card was drawn.

if you are wondering.  Campbell did win.  Double Purple for the victory.

bathtime beauty

Easter Sunday

We had a really nice Easter Sunday.  It was such a beautiful day outside.  Campbell had a wonderful time racing around the yard searching for eggs.  Mason had a great time playing around, swinging, and eating tons of food.  And little Henry, well he just slept.
To everyone who spent Easter Sunday with us, thank you for making it a wonderful day.
To all we love who were away, we missed you, and hope your Easter day was wonderful, as we celebrated our Risen Savior.

i think he's a little big for this.
such a happy girl.
climbing around.
playing with friends and cousins.
sleeping on momma.

and now sleeping on Auntie Jessie.

Sweet little cousins.

Hunting Eggs

This morning the sun finally came out and we are able to go as our little family out to the Smith's Vineyard for a wonderful Easter egg hunt.
It was such a wonderful time.  Especially because so many (well man actually most) of the young families that bless our lives were there.  Watching all of our children running in knee high grass searching for eggs together gives me such joy.
And of course watching my own little children wandering and waddling around makes me quite happy too.
Mason opening her eggs.

relaxing on the wet grass.

breaking into his candy a little early
Campbell's favorite thing- picking apart paper
the only 2 eggs she found.... cause she doesn't really like walking in grass.
our sweet little girl.
playing on the tractor bed.

getting ready to find eggs!
ready for nap time.

the end of the morning... tired girl.

and no we don't have any pictures on Henry- he was there, happy and warm in my sleepy wrap- sleeping himself!

fun with daddy

Campbell and Mason are just loving Sam being home.  Loving it.  Because daddy has become their personal jungle gym.
It has been just wonderful having Sam here to help.  I am enjoying getting to sleep in a little with Henry (as he is a hungry boy at night), and to have someone around who helps wrangle the craziness.
I've been racking my brain, trying to figure out how i can get someone to pay Sam to stay home with me.... or figure out someone to pay me for staying home.
I just love being home with our little family.

looking good

Henry had his "2 week" check up today.  The receptionist at Miners knows be my name now.
But everything is looking great!
Henry is weighing in at 8lbs 9 ounces.  His head has grown 1 cm, and he's still 20 1/2 inches long.
Hard to believe that Campbell was 8 lb 10 ounces and 21 1/2 inches long when he was born.
Hmmm.  Big babies.
But Henry is doing wonderful, still cooing and making funny sneezes. And still completely consuming Mason's attention when she is awake.  She is seriously all about her brothers.  Of course she only wants to kiss Henry, she wants to chase (and be chased) by Campbell.
